mayze

leisure groove rock

Mayze was celebrated and well known in 1989 - 1992. But unfortunately there were hardly any good recordings left from this time. The style of mayze has aroused from the influences of rockmusic of the seventies and eighties. It is a mixture of psychodelic big areas carried by wide-spread guitar delays and of jazzy syncopic keyboard elements. These were glued by an outstanding vocal sound and a very special rhythm of bass and drums. There were expert voices that compared mayze with "The Cure".

The style of their songs was "leisure groove rock" - a new created neologism by mayze. Due to the fact that in the first time nobody knew what "leisure groove rock" should be, alternative descriptions and comparisons were pulled up. And in this context "Marillion" and also again "The Cure" were mentioned.
