windghost

the mountain group

The "Windghost Project" evolved in an organic way when musicians met in "Studio Buckhorn". They came together just in order to record songs. After a time a special windghost crew emerged and had much fun in the "live-recording".

"Live recording" here has to be explained: It means vocals and guitars are recorded when a preproduction is played on one tape deck. All these are recorded to a second tape deck. So in this process the currently playing instruments are joined to the existing audio stream. And there you see: The term "Studio Buckhorn" is an exaggeration. At first it was just a good hifi-room with a mixer, some microphones and two hifi tape machines.

This picture was taken on top of the windghost hill. The odd wooden beams in the background formed the famous monument of windghost hill.

The windghost crew consisted of most different musicians which were innovative and a little weird. Sadly pictures are very rare, because it was difficult to find an appointment suitable for everyone. So today we have only a few gruff fotos.

This foto was shot in november 1988 on the famous bridge at the windghost hill.

All in all seven windghost tapes were revealed. Their circulation was small - and it was for private fun mostly. Of course the technical equipment in studio buckhorn advanced to a 4-track tape recorder synchronized to an Atari computer. This way even complex songs were achieved.

You can listen to a small selection of windghost songs here.
